The AI Challenge contest of the fifth edition of DevExpo crowned, on Saturday 6 June 2026, five Haitian startups specializing in artificial intelligence, following a competition that gathered more than 200 applications. As part of DevExpo 2026, an initiative deployed across the country's ten departments, this activity brings together public, private and technological actors around the same vision: putting artificial intelligence, innovation and digital technology at the service of new perspectives for the Haitian economy and more opportunities for youth.
The grand prize of 2 million gourdes was awarded to ZònPam, while Kòb Mwen obtained 1.5 million gourdes. The other three finalists, Intelligent Digital Health for Haiti (KURA), The Bachelier and PHARx, each received funding of 500,000 gourdes. The award-winning projects offer innovative solutions to meet concrete challenges in sectors such as health, education, digital services and financial inclusion.
Organized with the support of Digicel Foundation, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), DevExpo and several public and private sector partners, the AI Challenge aims to strengthen the digital innovation ecosystem in Haiti. The organizers believe that this initiative helps to encourage technological entrepreneurship and to harness the potential of Haitian youth in the development of solutions with high social and economic impact.
