Boston, June 12, 2026.- On the eve of the first game of Haiti at the FIFA World Cup 2026 against Scotland, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé met the players and technical staff of the national selection in Boston. Accompanied by several members of the government, he conveyed the support of the entire nation and called the Grenadiers to wear the colors of Haiti on the world stage.
A few hours before the Grenadiers competed at the FIFA World Cup 2026, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé made an official visit to Haiti's national football selection in Boston, where the team will face Scotland on Saturday, June 13.
Accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cults, Raina Forbin, as well as the Minister of Haitians living abroad, Kathia Verdier, the head of government met the players and members of the technical staff in an atmosphere marked by national pride and emotion.
During his speech, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé praised the Grenadiers' historical qualification, considering it to be more than a sporting feat. According to him, the national team embodies the hope, resilience and ambitions of an entire youth determined to overcome obstacles.
« You're more than a football team. You are the face of the young Haitian who refuses to give up », said the Prime Minister, before encouraging players to continue to inspire the nation.
For her part, Minister Raina Forbin stressed the importance of this historic participation for the international influence of Haiti, highlighting the diplomatic and consular efforts made to accompany the Haitian delegation. For his part, Kathia Verdier recalled the immense pride felt by the Haitian diaspora around the world.
As a sign of recognition, the players offered the Prime Minister an official national selection jersey bearing the signatures of the entire staff.
Through this symbolic visit, the government reaffirmed its support for the Grenadiers and appealed for national unity, inviting Haitians from the country and the diaspora to mobilize behind their team during this new page of the history of Haitian football.
